ANNOUNCEMENTS:

There is no Biloxi Sectional in May as erroneously reported in the District 10 Bulletin.  Instead, our unit opted for the 199er event held recently. Joyce Dozier's letter of appreciation acknowledging the contributions of various unit members to the success of the tourney has already gone out.  If you did not receive one, it may have been because the list of e-mail addresses for unit members was incomplete at that time.

There will be a Board Meeting April 12 beginning at 5:30 P.M.  Bill Cook, President of District 10, will be visiting our unit at that time.

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH

Bridge College:  Instruction by Kurt Shook is held on Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 P.M. & Thursday evenings at 6:30 P.M.  The Lessons for April are as follows:  April 3-6  Suit Preference Signals; April 12-13 Jacoby 2NT; Balancing April 19-20.  Also, note that Bridge College will be extended four weeks. BID, PLAY, AND LEARN classes will be Wednesday only at 1:00 P.M.     Don Brister is planning to have a very special day for Bay St Louis and the clubhouse.  A full day of lessons, beginners and intermediates.  Dates are not firm but will be on a Monday at the clubhouse and a Wed. in Bay St Louis. One day only at each location.

Neva Lewis with B J Lewis

Jim Strahle with Anne Mahaffey

Bob MacDowell with Sherry Maples

Frank Battaile with Pat Turner

The program runs for three months ending June 30.Here's wishing all participants lots of success and lots of fun.  Happy Mentoring

At the last Board Meeting,  Rebecca McMichael reported on her three-year tenure as chief director for the clubhouse games.  She concluded her remarks as follows: " Thanks to every one of you. ItŐs important to note that while any given Director can run away players or attract players, only the playing members can keep new players coming back through their friendliness and including the newcomers in the club activities.  I know that you'll give Dick Weaver, as Unit Game Club Manager all the support he needs to continue meeting the needs of our duplicate bridge community on the Gulf Coast."

Roger Banks is recovering nicely and expresses thanks to all of the bridge players for their well wishes and nice card.

Marge Guice is home from the hospital and is doing well.
